30 Meter Wireless Tower on Beacon Hill.

We have negotiated with the builder of the new cell tower to have it relocated to a more distant location on the Peace Lutheran Church site. The previous location was directly across six street in direct view of the residents of Beacon Hill. Should you have any issues with the new location please respond as soon as possible. SECA PRESIDENT’S REPORT OCTOBER 2009

September 13, 2009 11:37 by Gloria Dingwall

On September 1, along with several Board members and residents of Beacon Hill, I attended an information session on the 30 metre wireless tower proposed for installation in the Peace Lutheran Church grounds across the street from the Beacon Hill condos.  These cell tower installations are regulated and approved by Industry Canada and do not come under the City of Calgary’s jurisdiction.  It is likely that the tower will be installed by the operator, Alcatel, within six to eight weeks.  However, at the time of writing, as a result of suggestions made by residents at the meeting, the exact location of the tower was still to be determined.

By the time you read this brief report, written in early September, the SECA AGM will have been held and a new Board elected to lead the community through its toughest battle ever, the proposal to build a high density development on the golf course.  At this time there is nothing new to report.

On the eve of the AGM, I would like to thank all Directors, LUC members, volunteers and the community for supporting me throughout the nine months I have served as SECA President.

Respectfully submitted,
Gloria Dingwall
